Hi everyone! I recently got admitted into the following grad programs and was wondering if I could hear some of your opinions on each program
- Pratt Institute M.S. in Information Experience Design (IXD)
- Northeastern University M.S. in Experience Design
- Northeastern University Digital Media Connect
- (I also applied to University of Washington’s MHCID program, but haven’t heard back yet)
My question is though how important is the reputation of the program when you’re out applying for jobs? I think in the long-run, it is more important to be able to get the most out of the program so I can really hone my skills and build a solid portfolio rather than the ranking of the school.
I personally found the Digital Media Connect program at Northeastern to resonate with me the most because I have no background in UX design and am looking to switch careers, but this program was not listed on the Top UX School list and I feel like whoever wrote the program description just has a way with words, so I’m a bit hesitant. That being said, I was wondering if anyone here knows if any of these programs are good for people just getting started in the field or what type of learning environment these schools have?
